Ich habe dieses Buch jetzt zum zweiten mal innerhalb von 2 Jahren gelesen. Es beschreibt auf hervorragende Weise die Gefühle und Ängste, die mit dem Coming Out in einer eher konservativen High School verbunden sind. Beide Hauptcharaktere Holland (was für ein Name) als auch Cece sind nicht frei von Fehlern und Vorurteilen. So verurteilt Holland ihre Stiefschwester nur weil sie als Goth schwarze Klamotten trägt. Wunderbar kontrastiert sind die egoistische und dominante Mutter von Holland einerseits und die toleranten Eltern von Cece. Das Buch beschreibt auch sehr gut Hollands Entwicklung vom fremdbestimmten Teenager zur selbstbewußten jungen Frau, die zu sich selbst steht.Aus meiner Sicht gibt es zwei Kritikpunkte: 1. das viel zu abrupte Ende, das geradezu nach einer Fortsetzung verlangt, die aber von der Autorin verweigert wird 2. das eigentliche große Coming Out an der High School wird leider nicht mehr geschildert.Insgesamt sehr lesenswert für alle, die sich für das Thema interessieren
Ich hab selten so eine ehrliche und großartige Geschichte gelesen. Hollands Erlebnisse haben mich gefangen genommen und ich habe mit ihr gelacht, geliebt und gelitten.Man braucht solche Geschichten. Es malt nicht alles schön und es macht auch nicht alles Schöne kaputt.
Für alle, die sich in einer ähnlichen Situation befinden wie Holland ist das ein sehr empfehlenswertes Buch, aber auch für jene Leute, die einfach nur Etwas gutes lesen wollen.Es lässt sich sehr leicht lesen, denn man findet kaum langweilige Stellen, die man sonst in vielen guten Büchern auch finden kann. Das macht es sehr schwer überhaupt mit dem Lesen aufzuhören. Ich habe am Nachmittag als das Buch mit der Post ankam angefangen es zu lesen, habe dann spät in der Nacht aufgehört und am Morgen sofort weitergelesen. Schade- denn da war es viel zu schnell vorbei.Das Buch emphielt sich vorallem für junge Mädchen und Frauen.Top Buch!
Keeping You A Secret war das erste Buch, was ich von Julie Anne Peters gelesen habe. Jetzt ist es mein Lieblingsbuch, und ich habe esauch zu Weihnachten verschenkt. Ihr Erzählstil ist sehr angenehm und anschaulich, die Story realistisch und spannend. Ich könnte das Buch immer wieder lesen!

Die Geschichte ist so an sich wirklich sehr schön in einem lockeren/lustigen Erzählstil geschrieben. Jedoch finde ich, wie das Buch beendet wird, mehr als schlecht. Die Charaktere hätten was besseres verdient.
